As we celebrate 50 years of Brighton Sunblinds, it’s only fitting that we also recognise the incredible women who have shaped our business. On International Women’s Day, we honour the lasting impact of Inge Hopson, who co-founded Brighton Sunblinds in 1974 alongside her husband, David.
From humble beginnings in a workshop at the family home, Inge played a vital role in growing the company into a trusted name for high-quality, bespoke window treatments across Sussex. While Inge sadly passed away and is no longer with us, her legacy remains strong, with many returning customers still sharing fond memories of her dedication and passion. She was a true driving force behind the business, and her influence can still be felt today.
Today, that legacy continues with Nina Beatty, Inge’s daughter, who now co-directs the business alongside her brother, Jon. As we mark this milestone anniversary, we are proud that Brighton Sunblinds remains a family-run business, built on quality, trust, and strong leadership across generations.
This International Women’s Day, we celebrate women in business, family legacies, and the strength of female leadership.
Here’s to 50 years of Brighton Sunblinds – and to the women, past and present, who have helped make it what it is today.
